You have selected to add a second member to your household membership. The fee per household is $115.00 per year for a couple or a parent and child within the same household (two people maximum). Please note that from January to May the membership fee will be $80.

    CAPS Waiver 
    The Central Alberta Photographic Society (CAPS) is a non-profit society. The purpose of the club is to promote photography in our community and benefit the members through the sharing of techniques, knowledge and experiences and is run and organized by persons elected from the membership to serve as its executive.

    ALL INDIVIDUALS PRIOR TO JOINING CAPS ARE REQUIRED TO READ AND SIGN THE FOREGOING WAIVER.

    I HEREBY ASSUME ALL OF THE RISKS OF ATTENDING, PARTICIPATING AND/OR VOLUNTEERING IN CLUB MEETINGS, ACTIVITIES, OUTINGS OR EVENTS, including by way of example and not limitation, any risks that may arise from negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons or entities being released, from dangerous or defective equipment or property owned, maintained, or controlled by them, or because of their possible liability without fault.

    By joining the Central Alberta Photographic Society (CAPS) I understand that the function of the club consist of meetings and a variety of differing kinds of events, activities or outings (Known as ACTIVITY(IES)) conducted under differing kinds of climates, environments and topography. I acknowledge that these ACTIVITIES may involve a test of a person's physical and mental limits and may carry with it the potential for death, serious injury, and property loss. The risks may include, but are not limited to, those caused by, facilities, terrain, temperature, weather, lack of hydration, condition of participants, equipment, vehicular traffic, actions of other people or wild animals, including, but not limited to, participants, volunteers, spectators, coaches, wild animals, event officials, and event monitors, and/or producers of the event. These risks are not only inherent to participants, but are also present for volunteers or as spectators.

    Some of the activities are out-door/wilderness photographic outings or ACTIVITIES generally open to the public while others are indoor photographic outings or meetings. I understand that during my participation in the ACTIVITIES of CAPS, I may be exposed to a variety of hazards and risks, either foreseen or unforeseen, that cannot be eliminated without destroying the unique character of the club ACTIVITIES.

    These inherent risks include, but are not limited to, the dangers of serious personal injury, property damage, losses, or death ("Injuries and Damages") from exposure to the hazards associated with each unique ACTIVITY. The Executive of CAPS has not tried to contradict or minimize my understanding of these risks associated with any of the club's ACTIVITIES. I know that Injuries and Damages can occur by natural causes or activities of other persons, animals/wildlife, trip members, trip guides and assistants or third parties, either as a result of negligence or because of other reasons. I understand that risks of such Injuries and Damages are involved in ACTIVITIES such as CAPS may propose and to a lesser degree in club meetings. I appreciate that I may have to exercise extra care for my own person and for others around me in the face of such hazards and that it will govern my actions and responsibilities at said ACTIVITIES.

    I further understand that on some of the club ACTIVITIES there may not be rescue or medical facilities or expertise necessary to deal with the Injuries and Damages or illness to which I may be exposed and as a participant in any ACTIVITIES I am responsible for being the judge of my own capabilities and abilities in participating in such activities and I am free at any time to withhold my participation in any of the club's ACTIVITIES.

    In consideration for my acceptance as a member and participant in the ACTIVITIES of CAPS throughout the year, and the services and amenities to be provided by CAPS in connection with these ACTIVITIES, I confirm my understanding that:
    • I will read any rules and conditions applicable to any ACTIVITIES made available to me.
    • The CAPS ACTIVITIES officially begin and end at the location(s) and times designated by the Association. The ACTIVITIES do not include carpooling, transportation, or transit to and from the ACTIVITIES, and I am personally responsible for all risks associated with this travel.
    • If I decide to arrive prior to scheduled start or leave early and not to complete the ACTIVITIES as planned, I assume all risks inherent in my decision to arrive early or to leave early and waive all liability against CAPS arising from either decision. Likewise, if an ACTIVITY has concluded and I decide to go forward without the guide or club designated person, I assume all risks inherent in my decision to go forward and waive all liability against CAPS arising from that decision.
    • Some ACTIVITIES suggested by the club as photographic outings may not have any designated club leader and are offered up solely as learning photographic outing for its members and if I decide to go forward without any guide or club designated person, I assume all risks inherent in my decision to go forward and waive all liability against CAPS arising from that decision.
    • From time to time information about photographic opportunities may be passed on to CAPS club members. Photographic opportunities are not sanctioned club activities merely suggestions. All sanctioned club ACTIVITIES will be listed as outings on the website.
    • This Agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by law. If any provision or any part of any provision of this Agreement is held to be invalid or legally unenforceable for any reason, the remainder of this Agreement shall not be affected thereby and shall remain valid and fully enforceable.
    • To the fullest extent allowed by law, I agree to WAIVE, DISCHARGE CLAIMS, AND RELEASE FROM LIABILITY CAPS, its officers, directors, employees, agents, leaders and members from any and all liability on account of, or in any way resulting from Injuries Damages or Losses even if caused by negligence of CAPS its officers, directors, employees, agents, leaders and members in any way connected with any ACTIVITIES during the club year. I further agree to HOLD HARMLESS CAPS, its officers, directors, employees, agents, leaders and members from any claims, Injuries, Damages, or losses caused by my own negligence while a participant in any of the Club's ACTIVITIES. I understand and intend that this assumption of risk and release is binding upon my heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, and includes any minors accompanying me in any of the ACTIVITIES.
    • I have read this document in its entirety and I freely and voluntarily assume all risks of such Injuries, Damages or Losses and notwithstanding such risks, I agree to participate in any of the club's ACTIVITIES that I so choose to participate in or attend.
